Who are we?
We are women of all ages. Some of us have full-time careers,
part-time jobs, are full-time homemakers or volunteers.
Membership is open to all women over the age of 18 from Exeter and
the surrounding area.
The Exeter Area Junior Women's Club (EAJWC) was
founded in 1952. Our volunteers are willing to share a little of
their time and talents to better their communities and themselves.
In 2004, we changed our name to The Exeter Area General Federation
of Women's Clubs (GFWC). We are a part of The General Federation of Women's Clubs (GFWC)
www.gfwc.org,
the largest non-denominational international service organization
for women. We are also members of GFWC New Hampshire
www.gfwcnh.org,
boasting over 3000 members.
What do we do?
Our activities fall within the six departments set up by GFWC.
Arts
Conservation
Education Home Life
International Affairs Public Affairs
We encourage members to participate in the department(s) of their
choice. We also encourage members to participate in the
project of
their choice.
What is our purpose?
Our purpose is to bring together women interested in building
better communities. Our projects are usually aimed at the Exeter
area, but many have state, national, and international benefits.
What can we do for
you?
Membership gives you the opportunity to use your time and talents
in service to your community. Being a member not only provides you
with community involvement, but also social activities for you and
your family.
When do we meet?
We meet once a month to discuss
ongoing projects and provide programs of interest to members.
Meetings are held September through June, the second Thursday of the
month, at 7:00 p.m., in The Exeter Senior Citizen Center, 30 Court
Street, Exeter, NH.
